Trashigang Dzong

The Dzong of Trashigang – the largest district of eastern Bhutan. Trashigang means “auspicious hill” and the so it is “Fort on Auspicious Hill” that was built in 1659CE – marking the total unification of Bhutan in the 17th century. It is built strategically high above cliffside protected by two rivers.
